Draw

Bodo/Glimt are the first Norwegian club to reach a major European semi-final and will be aiming to go a step further as they seek to overturn a 3-1 deficit against Tottenham in the Arctic Circle.

Kjetil Knudsen’s side were largely outplayed in the first leg in north London, but finished the match on a high thanks to Ulrik Saltnes' 83rd minute goal.

They won the Norwegian title in 2024 and are fourth in the 2025 standings having taken 10 points from four games.

Tottenham are languishing 16th in the Premier League after Sunday’s 1-1 draw away to West Ham.

However, the Lilywhites have performed with greater consistency in the Europa League and are pushing to land their first European trophy since lifting the UEFA Cup in 1984.

Team news

James Maddison (knee) and Lucas Bergvall (ankle) are expected to miss the rest of the season and Dominic Solanke (thigh) was absent from Sunday's 1-1 draw at West Ham.

Heung-Min Son (foot) has been out for almost a month and Radu Dragusin (knee) is a long-term absentee.

Bodo/Glimt centre-back Odin Bjortuft (groin) was an unused substitute in the first leg, but winger Ola Blomberg overcame a minor injury and featured until his withdrawal on 71 minutes.

Patrick Berg, Hakon Evjen and Andreas Helmersen have served their suspensions and are back in contention for Thursday.

The stats

Bodo/Glimt have won six of their seven Europa League home games this season.

Seven of Bodo/Glimt’s last eight Europa League home matches have generated at least three goals.

Both teams have scored in three of Bodo/Glimt’s last four fixtures.

Tottenham have started the scoring in five of their last seven Europa League games.

Spurs have kept just one clean sheet in their last 15 matches.

Prediction

Tottenham stopped the rot in the Premier League with a 1-1 draw against West Ham and they can achieve a similar result against Bodo/Glimt to ensure progression to the Europa League final.

Ange Postecoglou’s side dominated the first leg and were frustrated to have not won by a wider margin.

They face a tougher examination on an artificial surface at Aspmyra Stadion, where Bodo/Glimt have won six matches in the competition this season, including eye-catching triumphs over Porto (3-2) and Lazio (2-0).

Bodo/Glimt have a stronger squad available for the second leg, but will have to take a few risks and that could create opportunities for Spurs to exploit them on the counter-attack.

Tottenham have scored in 12 of their 13 Europa League games and another goal or two could pave the way to a place in the final.
